Exactly! Typhoon transient

Sahoro was hardly affected by the typhoon, but on the first day of the three-day holiday, it is a wonderful autumn sun. This is exactly what a typhoon is all about! You can see the mountains of the Hidaka Mountains and the yellow leaves of Mt. Sahoro. Well, there are still some vacancies at the Sahoro Resort Hotel, which is about a 2-minute drive from Bear Mountain. We also have accommodation plans with Bear Mountain, so please come and visit us if you think about it. Of course, you can ( ̄(エ) ̄) also stop by, even if it's sunny, the maximum temperature is forecast to be 15 ° C, so it's very cold to observe without a jacket (()(=_=)) Please take measures against the cold and come and play. Typhoon! And snow!!

There was almost no impact from the typhoon that we were worried about, and although it was delayed by one hour, we were able to open safely! However, perhaps the bears have become better due to the release of the animals at a time shift of one hour, and they usually go out of the animal house to the zoo, but today they don't come out at all (T△T) In particular, Shingo and Makoto may have mistakenly thought that they were contained (they can go back to their rooms and eat food), and once they went out into the park, they came back to the gate before they knew it. Bears have their own rhythm of life... Sorry. (But it's a typhoon, so I can't help it!) In the afternoon, the sun came through thin clouds. We hope that the weather will improve for the three-day holiday. So, did the typhoon bring cold air with you? I could see a faint snow near the top of the mountain that I could see from Sahoro. ↑ The triangular pointed mountain in the foreground is Mt. Shimohorokametok. The mountain behind it is also covered with snow ... This year, winter may be coming early. [Breeding: Ito]

Standing on tiptoe and bouncing

As you can see, the pond is located at Bear Point, but the depth is different on the left and right sides of the large pillar. Promenade side (left): Shallow/water level below belly Sahorodake side (right): deep/water level up to the mouth Can you tell? When they came to the right side where the water was deep, the bears were walking with just the toes of their large feet touching the bottom of the pond. Are they standing on their tiptoes to poke their heads out of the water? Are you standing on your tiptoes due to buoyancy? I'm not sure, but it looks like it would be fun to walk around in the water ♪

fruit of the mountain

This year, it seems that due to lack of sunlight, the growth of crops in the fields is delayed and the crops are failing. What about the fruit of the mountains? I checked the fruits of Quercus oak, Japanese mountain grape, and Japanese oak that grow all over the Bear Mountain park. There were fewer Quercus oaks near the promenade than last year, but they were actually bearing fruit. The fruit has swollen and ripened to a brown color, and I was wondering if the squirrels would come and eat it again this year, when I noticed that most of the fruit was gone. Maybe it fell to the ground, or maybe a squirrel ate it up without me knowing... Anyway, the fruit disappeared too quickly this year. Yeah. There was also a difference between trees with a lot of fruit and trees without. ↑Precious fruit. Yamabudu between 5 and 6 seconds. A Japanese kingfisher next to the animal house. Last year's harvest was poor, but this year's harvest was spectacular! ! I gave this to Santa at the animal shelter. Sweet like a kiwi fruit and refreshingly sour★ Santa enjoyed eating each one, savoring each one. I found a germinated Quercus acorn! I found a bear nestling under the promenade. Is this slender body...? a! It was over here! It was a dogfish after all! I was taking a nap under the promenade, but I woke up slowly. Does it look a little sleepy? Lionmaru finished bathing. It has a ``dazzling face'' when the setting sun hits it. LOL This is also Yawara with a ``joyful face'' after taking a bath in cold spring water. The temperature is getting colder and the autumn leaves are becoming more visible. Bears are also hungry for autumn. They bathe in the water, take naps, and move around actively in search of food...maybe this is the most comfortable season for bears? ! The trees in the park are starting to shed their leaves, so you can see farther than in the summer, making it easier to spot bears. Personally, I think this period is the most suitable for observation. I love the soft sunlight and pleasant breeze that is unique to autumn when I walk along the promenade. last day of sake

Silver week is over, isn't it? It's starting to get much colder in the mornings and evenings. Everyone please take care of your health! ! Yesterday was the last day of the salmon giveaway. Since it was the last day of the event, I decided to select bears who had never been to a salmon event before and lead them to Bear Point. First, place a live salmon in front of the canter! However, perhaps because it was so lively, it ran away in the blink of an eye. Hmm, last year, Canter was playing with a salmon on his belly, so I was hoping for a good reaction, saying, "Are you going to catch it this year?!" But...disappointing! ! Kouta and Hiroki, who I gave them next, showed interest but were unable to catch them. Hiroki sniffed the salmon odor and then rubbed his cheek against his own, covering himself with the salmon odor. We apologize to the customers who were expecting a dynamic scene... but! Immediately after that, the Yawara next to me ate up the salmon that Hiroki left behind (^^) At around 2:30 pm, Joyner, an expert fish catcher, and Hirotake appeared at the pond. They seemed to sense the presence of Hiroki and started looking for salmon with their faces in the pond. In between searches, the two of them got up and played wrestling. While playing and distracting Joyner, Hirotake shrewdly steals Joyner's salmon...! When Joyner caught a live salmon using his specialty ``hunting strategy,'' the customers watching him cheered, saying ``Good job!'' and ``Wow!'' Hirotake also found a submerged salmon and pressed it against the glass, chomping on it. Salmon is also a valuable source of nutrition for bears before winter. I'm glad you enjoyed it. We cleaned the pond in preparation for the "Autumn Salmon Present for Brown Bears" which will be held tomorrow! First, drain the water from the pond and capture the rainbow trout in the pond! When I put it into words, it seems like it was all over easily... It's a large pond, so by the time we finished, the sun had set (@△@;) The rainbow trout that had evacuated were released again, and the two salmon that had just been brought in today were also released earlier. Water in my ears!

Suzunosuke is in a good mood. He arrived just as the other bears had moved from Bear Point to another location, so Suzunosuke had the large pond all to himself. They are enjoying playing in the water, splashing as much as they can. It seems that brown bears are not good at getting water in their ears, so usually none of them dip their ears in water. (Even Hirotake, who is good at catching fish, tries not to put his ears in the water, no matter how excited he is♪) However, today Suzunosuke was at his most excited and splashed his head in the water! ! But did I really dislike it? ! I immediately shook my head to get the water out of my ears. LOL And Hirotake got a rainbow trout today too. Just like last time, I attacked it with my front legs and held it in my hands while bringing it to my mouth. Bears have a habit of aiming for bait in the same place once they have learned the taste, so it seems that Hirotake has memorized the taste of rainbow trout well and tries it repeatedly. It was a pleasant day with plenty of sunshine and a refreshing breeze from the afternoon. Today, for the first time in a long time, Hirotake was able to get a rainbow trout. Nayamu!? Hirotake

Last time, we talked about Hirotake and Suzunosuke, who are afraid of Kumaemon! Kumaemon finished his health checkup and came out into the park in good spirits. After all, as I expected, when I discovered Hirotake, I was frightened by showing the pretense of rushing. The place where the two often encounter each other is Bear Point. (Because both of them love Bear Point...) Hirotake watched the situation from a distance, sticking his head out against the wall to observe Kumaemon's movements. If there is a certain distance, there will be no escape, but the "borderline" decided by Hirotake? If it is exceeded, it seems to be judged to be dangerous and leaves the place. However, I wonder if Bear Point is a remnant, and recently I have been waiting for a little distance to see what is going on. When Kumaemon gets bored and moves to another place, Hirotake may appear at the right time. (Did you see it somewhere?!) It's the best timing as you think... I wonder how you know it!
