Pushing out with power - Suzunosuke's victory

Bears don't care about bear-watching buses at all. They walk right next to it, take a nap on the bus road, and don't react to the bus. After marking with the symbol tree, Suzunosuke goes to the top of the hill to steal the snack. Push out the bear that was ahead of you and Suzunosuke wins! When bears meet each other, they greet each other by smelling each other's odors, threaten them with their voices, and run away at a glance when they find a strong partner. This time, it was Suzunosuke who closed the gap and succeeded in pushing out without touching the opponent.

Are you having a nice dream?

Grandpa Inuo is the oldest dog on Bear Mountain. It was probably two or three days ago. On the first sunny and warm afternoon in a while, I was taking a nap by the bus path. I thought to myself, ``You look so cozy~ (^^)'' when I took a closer look at his face...ha...his eyes were half-closed! (@△@;)? Her mouth is loose...! ! What kind of good dreams did you have? After that, when the sun started shining on the place where I was sleeping, was it hot? I moved to another location and resumed my nap. <Bonus> Unfortunately it's raining today. “Ennui Hirotake” [Breed by: Ito]

Are you stuck in winter? ! Part2

He did it again! ! Joyner in front of the cave. Something was messing around. What if? ! So I immediately went up to the promenade to take a look... and they did it again! ! Collect grass and build a nest? ! They were working hard to move the grass that was growing under the promenade! ! Carry it further into the cave. For some reason, I stopped midway and went to the pond to look for fish. Joyner goes to the pond when all the other bears are gone, so I wonder if this is the end of today's nest building (?)... (^^;) Just as I was thinking about this, Joyner appeared again in the evening! ! Then I just carry the grass back to the cave. Inside the cave, they were spreading out and collecting the grass they had collected. After that, we went to the pond again to catch some fish. Today's nest building (?) was completed and Joyner went back to the animal pen. In the end, the inside of the cave will look like this... It looks like he will really be stuck in the winter (^^;) I look forward to seeing Joyner's future actions (`△´) [Raising: Miyatake]

Will the peaceful days come?!

Spring to early summer is the love season for bears, and the bears at Bear Mountain also exhibit behaviors unique to this time of year. This is also the time when you often see people doing back rubs to emphasize their presence. ↑Scrubbing the glass of the bear point... ``I'm strong~'' And the ``group behavior'' seen during this time. Some bears act together in groups that are compatible with each other, and some bears frequently sniff each other... This is a time when bears that are conscious of the presence of other individuals stand out in their behavior. Is this group behavior unique to Bear Mountain? I don't know for sure, but once the heat period has passed, they tend to lose their tightness, so it's really strange (^^;) ↑Canter is popular among the bears. Sometimes there are groups of 4 or 5 animals, with the canter at the center, and among the staff they are called the ``canter group'' or ``the canter party.'' (Anyway, why is Canter so popular? Does his sturdy body make him look like a man?! ^^) ↑ Bears sniffing and greeting each other Recently, the heat has subsided, and the bears have regained their composure. I'm sure the heat will be harsh for both the bears and us in the upcoming season, but we want the bears to cool down in the cold streams in the park and do their best to survive (^▽^) [Raising: Ito]

Joiner walking with Mushi

Mr. Joyner has curly hair around his face and looks a little reminiscent of Mr. Ba** and Mr. Beethoven, which are displayed in the school's music room. Inside, he's just a friendly bear. morning! I found a caterpillar (lime green inchworm) on Joyner's curly hair! (You can see it, right between the transmitter and the mouth.) Noon! The caterpillar landed above Joyner's left eye! (lol). I wonder if it doesn't itch. In fact, bears in the wild are said to be useful for the movement of various creatures. For example, seed dispersal... There are also some clever ones that move along with their hair. The common practice is that the grass seeds move along with the hair. By eating the seeds with the fruit, they move to another location as poop! That's true. Bring it on, bring it on. Plus, poop is a great source of nutrition!

Are you stuck in winter? !

There was a joiner in front of the cave around noon today. Joyners don't go into caves very often, so I was wondering if they would leave soon...but then I noticed that they were doing something in front of the cave. I immediately went up to the promenade to see what it was doing, and it looked like it was digging in the grass. And what! ! They are dragging the uprooted grass into the cave! ( ̄□ ̄;) It looked like they were building a nest. (^^;) Is it really winter? ! While I was thinking about this, Misumi and Kumaemon, who Joyner doesn't like, came near the cave and Joyner ran away. Acorn baby

There is an acorn tree on the grounds of Bear Mountain. The photo shows a baby Quercus acorn (the part pointed to with a ballpoint pen). Bears (in the wild) also eat this. The Bear Mountain bears also eat well with their mouths. What I am concerned about this year is that I can see the withered leaves, like the one on the bottom left of the photo. If the acorns are not in good condition, bears in the wild will have a hard time making ends meet, so I hope they turn out well.

Bathing spot ~3 no sawa~

It rained heavily today, the temperature was low, and the bears were actively moving around. On sunny days, bears don't like the heat and often take a bath. As you walk along the promenade towards the end point, you will see a large stream under the bridge, which is a popular bathing spot. It is commonly known as ``3-no-sawa''. The problem is that it is located directly under the promenade, so it is difficult to notice even if a bear is bathing. To avoid overlooking the precious sight of bears bathing, be sure to pay close attention to the sound of the water and the bears' snorts when walking near waterholes♪ There are many ways to bathe! The symbol tree that can be seen from the tip (end point) of the promenade course is a marking spot for brown bears. During this mating season, more individuals rub their backs, and the probability of seeing them increases. First, I stood up and checked the smell.I leaned against a tree, keeping my head and back close to the tree.I did a squat while bending my knees and straightening them.I shook my body while shifting my weight from side to side.It looked like it was going to take a while, so I changed it to a video! It continued to scrub while resting its forelimbs on the slope above its head.Once it had finished marking, it headed back into the depths with powerful steps.

Puddles of footprints

Today in Sahoro, the weather continues to be gloomy, with light rain coming and going. In this morning's newspaper, there was an article saying, ``There has been a lot of rain in Hokkaido since the beginning of June, and the average rainfall at 22 major observation points up to the 14th is 1.8 times higher than normal,'' and ``2.2 times higher in Obihiro.'' The footprints left in the park are also filled with water. After a rainy day, you can have fun finding footprints like this one. Even though it's raining, the brown bears are still moving around the park as energetically as usual. On such a rainy day, you can enjoy the bear watching without getting too wet by riding on the bear watching bus. Umbrellas are also lent out for free, so even tourists who don't have an umbrella can come with peace of mind.(^ー^)y Well, just like in the previous episode, we'll be showing you a picture of a dog walking (side-on version) so you can feel the early summer.

It’s out! 〜> ̄ )〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜

A signboard near the Bear Watching bus stop. [No entry] Note: There will be snakes! ] "Are there really snakes?" I was wondering, but... there really were. Aodaisho. The driver of the bear watching bus received sighting information that ``the bear had just gone into the lift shed'' and when he opened the door... there he was. Do they prefer to rest in a cool hut? It seems that the blue daisies are also in the season of love, just like the brown bears. Come to think of it, there are signs posted on mountain trails that say, ``Beware of brown bears,'' but they are put up because brown bears have actually been spotted. There are also many unusual signboards that can't be seen in the city along the mountain passes, so we recommend taking a drive while looking for them. Frog diary part 3

It's raining today and it's a little chilly, making it an easy day for the bears. Have the Bear Point nerds grown a lot? ? Which one...isn't there? I wondered where all the otamas had gone, so I asked another zookeeper and was told that they had been eaten by dragonflies (dragonfly larvae). It will become a fine dragonfly. Creatures that prey on others in order to survive, what do they think about as they spend their days? There used to be a lot of point geeks. Although they have become food for other creatures to survive, there are still many otama in the water puddles in the park. Weak creatures try to pass on their genes by giving birth to many children. White corn... no.

There are two goats next to the parking lot. Yuki-chan (left) and Atsuko (right). Both are female, but Atsuko has horns. It's easy to tell them apart♪ Now, Hokkaido is starting to offer a lot of seasonal food. Asparagus season is from late May to mid-June. The other day, I visited a farmer in Furano for an interview. The farmer grows not only green but also white, and as you can see, they are wonderfully thick. I washed freshly picked white asparagus with water and ate it raw, and it was ``sweet and juicy.'' The roots are especially crunchy and delicious! ! ! ! The water seemed to be spilling out from the cross section I bit into. Sahoro Resort Hotel is also using green asparagus for dinner this month, so when you come to Bear Mountain, we recommend a great value accommodation plan that includes a promenade! Back to the topic, have you ever seen goat teeth? It is shaped like a grain of corn and looks like white corn. What do you think? Can't you see?
