On September 26th, the castrated male Ezo brown bear ``Hirotake'' passed away.
This year, he retired from display in the park due to his inability to stand and was undergoing medical treatment.
His condition suddenly deteriorated from September 24th, and unfortunately we had to euthanize him on the 26th.
The cause of death was determined to be rupture and necrosis of the surrounding tissue due to intestinal torsion and hip dislocation.
He was a smart, innocent, strong, and cute bear who has been around since the facility first opened.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who loved and supported Hirotake.
Flowers can be placed at Bear Point in Bear Mountain until the end of this season on October 18th.
