Marking × 2

From the bear-watching bus to "back rubbing", "menacing", "flaunting walking", etc., various behavior patterns were taken, so I will upload them. I found a bear in the forest that was acting with three heads! !! First, Clinton rubbed her back against a standing tree. I rubbed my own odor and marked, "This is my territory!" In the depths of it, two bears are glaring at each other with their mouths wide open. Then, the two horses in the back made a popping sound (because it was in the bus, so you can't hear the sound) and came with a threatening "sound", and this time Koji "rubbed his back" on the same standing tree. The smell has been reattached to indicate its existence. After adding the smell, at the end, the hind legs are spread shoulder-width apart or more, twisting from the inside to the outside, and walking proudly. But Koji, who walked out of the screen looking at the camera, was smiling, and the corners of his mouth were raised in human terms, so he seemed to be smiling (^_^). It would be interesting if you could see the standing trees in the park while imagining a brown bear walking with various traces like this.

Kensui no Athlete

Koji climbed the birch tree visible from the boardwalk endpoint. Bears and light-weighted females may climb trees, but adult males are not easily seen, probably because of their heavy weight. So I thought, "If there is something attractive on the tree, wouldn't I climb the tree?!", so I installed ice on the birch that trapped the bears' favorite apples and carrots. Since it is usually an empty tree, I naturally thought that I would not notice the ice, but multiple bears were walking around the tree with their noses twitching. The bear's sense of smell is amazing! And impressed. Then, Koji used the rock as a scaffold to put his claws on the tree and lifted his body weighing about 250 kg with a guttural pull-up! (Shingo, who was at the back of the screen, was trying to climb from the slope, but Koji overtook him ;) Koji finds ice and eats it deliciously and tries to take out an apple with his claws. Kumaemon, who smelled the smell, also stood up under the tree and said, "What is there?" After this, Koji seemed satisfied, so he descended from the tree and Kumaemon climbed up instead, eating the rest of the ice. Even so, I was able to observe such a wonderful ability to go up and down with such a large body so easily, which is unimaginable from ordinary laid-back bears. 【Zookeeper: Ito】

Pun

Hiroki was bathing in the pond. Canta approached us to smell the smell and we started playing with each other. Unlike when I had a serious fight, it was like wrestling with a lot of effort. (Sometimes, the force gradually comes in and it becomes like a fight) Right now, it is the bear estrus period, but there are bears that move around a wide area, bears that follow behind the bears they care about and act together, fights and markings, and you can observe the behavior peculiar to this period. It's also interesting to pay attention to and observe the relationship between bears! 【Zookeeper: Ito】

Straight Flowers

The flowers of the bunting tree were blooming. It is a big flower. As I walked along the promenade, a unique aroma came to me. When I thought that the butterbur had grown big and the Mizunara had sprouted, I had leaves in no time. Early summer in Hokkaido is very pleasant! The photo on the right is Hirotake. It's not related to the story of the bunting tree, but I was able to take a cool picture of Hirotake, so I uploaded it. 【Zookeeper: Ito】

Natural cascading water?!

Of course, it is not a hot spring, but a cold stream that flows through the park! It was an afternoon when the temperature rose, and Makoto was bathing comfortably. While soaking in the pond, I squirmed with the falling water on my face. The water is so cold that humans can't keep their hands immersed even in summer, but the bears seem to feel really good... 【Zookeeper: Ito】

Cantata ♪

In Sahoro, a forest concert is held every day. At this time of year, it is a big chorus of Ezo Haruzemi. It makes you feel that the short summer in Hokkaido is just around the corner. And as you walk along the promenade, you can hear "Cuckoo, cuckoo" nearby, and you can enjoy bird watching from a different perspective than usual at a height of 5m. From evening to night, there is also the voice of Ezo Sennyu that can be heard as "Joppin Kaketaka"! "Joppin" is a "key" in the Hokkaido dialect, so it seems (^_^) to teach you to lock the door at night, "Did you lock it?" Forest concerts are ♪ held everywhere ← Ezoharuzemi shells There were 20 to 30 of them on one tree. It should be a big chorus. Miyama jay is easy to find because it has a large ← body. Handsome bear, buoy bui ☆

A handsome bear "Kumaemon" with a well-formed face. It's so popular that a fan club can be created, but recently it has become a presence that is respected among bears due to too much buoying. Kouta Hirotake runs away just by seeing him. Suzunosuke, who is not afraid of the jeep ridden by the breeding staff, and even Canta, who is like a boss, growls just by passing nearby. Are you trying to push Canta away and become the boss? Or is it just a season of love and wild? If you see this face, be careful! Features: golden beard, sweet mask

I'm eating butterbur leaves.

Recently, you can often see individuals that eat grass such as clover and butterbur in the park. I heard that butterbur stems were eaten as traces of brown bears in the mountains, but bears in Bear Mountain prefer to eat leaves. Is it because the stem part is hard and strong? And depending on the individual, some bears eat butterbur, while others do not eat at all. Bears have different tastes. 【Veterinarian: Sugo】

Soles of the hind feet

The bear taking a nap in front of Bear Point had the soles of its feet attached to the glass, so I compared the sizes. Not only the length, but also the width is by far the largest. (The shoe is 24 cm) And as you can see, there is a heel. Since the entire sole of the foot is attached to the ground, it feels stable even on two legs and can stand well. Even in the park, they show you standing up when rubbing your back (marking) or wrestling. The fact that the soles of the feet are shaped differently between the front and hind legs is also an observation point!

The season of fresh greenery has arrived.

Sahoro has entered the season of fresh greenery. Light shines through the leaves, and the brown bear's hair looks sparkling after bathing. Hirotake, who was struggling, also looked a little smiling. The leaves of trees that you usually can't observe without looking up can be carefully observed right in front of you on the 5-meter-high promenade. In addition, the remaining snow from the distant Daisetsuzan mountain range remains near the summit. There are many things to see, such as brown bears, landscapes, and plant observations. If you are using the Bear Watching Bus, we recommend the promenade course to return from Bear Point.

Uncle's kindness

Hirotake mushrooms have been a little depressed recently. I showed up at Bear Point, where Kanta, who was not good at it, was sitting there relaxing. However, Hirotake is lying face down a little farther away and has a "face when he is in a bad time". Koji, Hirotake's uncle, gently approached and lay face down next to Hirotake in the same pose. Is it comforting? Or did you just come near because you were worried about Hirotake? It was a scene where you could almost hear the chatter of two horses. 【Zookeeper: Ito】

Hirotake's Fort is a cave

As if "The housekeeper has seen it!", I stepped out of the cave and checked the bear gathered in front of Bear Point. When Kumaemon comes, he hides in the cave, and when he disappears, he comes out, repeatedly. Visitors said, "There are various brown bear worlds," and they couldn't take their eyes off Hirotake. Misumi and Kumaemon broke hirotake's nose, who were tengu. I caught the appearance of meeting with hisohiso in Sasa bush beforehand??? Misumi's mouth is just like, "All right, I'm going first, so if you give me a signal, come out." It seems that Kumaemon in Sasabubu also lurks, "Ok, I'm hiding here and on standby." I'm not sure if I had such a meeting, but the breeding staff stared at the secret meeting of the bear from the jeep.

Indulging in thought?

Hirotake is still a mischievous bear, such as chasing rainbow trout vigorously in a pond because it is 9 years old and young, and leaning in from behind other bears and clinging to gaburi. Have you recently become stronger and want to save yourself the skills of your fight? The trouble with other bears stands out. But his test of skill was a problem of surprise attacks at only bears weaker than him. When a strong bear comes near you, it will not be gone... Moxibustion has been put away at last in such Hirotake. Misumi fights for 1 or 2 with the strength of the fight. The two were meeting at BarePoint and appealing each other's existence with a back rubbing. And it develops into a fight from the voice of intimidation, And Bear Emon who teamed up with Misumi also participated and fought 2-on-1! Hirotake, who was also motivated, also twisted his ears behind his ears and "Maita~" Hirotake's long nose, which was completely tengu, was broken, and she lost confidence. The worry that a weak bear and an old bear were injured decreased, but hirotake seemed to stare at the distance, and indulge in the desire even today only three days later. Do young bears grow up by experiencing "losing" like this? This time, I want you to do your best not to fight, but to take fish. 【Zookeeper: Ito】

Rainy days are also fantastic

Even though it's only the second half of May, the temperature in Sahoro is currently 9℃ (as of 9:00). It's cold. However, the temperature is said to be comfortable for brown bears. And even when it rains, they act the same as usual. No, in fact, they are moving around more actively because the temperature does not rise during the day. It's a day like this! I think it is suitable for observing brown bears. It's foggy right now and it's also magical. o○ The sight of a brown bear walking through the fog is also very cool. We rent vinyl umbrellas (free of charge), and if you take the bear watching bus, you will spend less time exposed to the rain. On the way home from the banquet?!

I was able to take a special photo, so I will upload it immediately! Shingo, 25, the oldest in Bear Mountain. Looking at Shingo's face that came out of the sasayab, I almost blew out! The branch sticks to Shingo's nose. It's as if a father at a banquet put disposable chopsticks on his nose. This person in question is very usual. Is there any discomfort in your nose? After that, it seemed to have been able to take it naturally and it was relieved. (If you look closely, it was a part of the stem of bamboo grass, not a branch) But did it stick to it when eating food? Is it when you're flinching? I'm not sure, but zookeepers may also be surprised. Please observe the behavior of the bears carefully when you come. 【Breeding Staff: Ito】

Good luck Joiner!

≪NEWS≫ Joiner was chasing rainbow trout in the pond of BarePoint! Joyner who enters the pond first grouses the ditch of the shallow water by the hand. (You remember it properly because you've found fish here before!) Put your face on the water and slowly move deep into the pond, "Are there any fish?" And rainbow trout found! It jumps with great virch aiming at a small fish! However, it is not possible to catch the rainbow trout which is small and moves fast easily. In between chasing rainbow trout, lying logs, hugging logs, rubbing your body against rocks, innocently watching joiners playing vigorously are very excited. Unfortunately I couldn't catch it, but I was satisfied playing a lot or left bare point. Next time...! I want to expect it. I think that it will increase to play in the water when the temperature goes up from now on. Please come and observe the bears playing innocently.

The back of the forefoot

I took a pleasant nap in front of Bare Point. The soles of my feet looked good, so I was very comfortable. Up's forefoot is on the left. In human beings, the thumbs are thick and the little fingers are thin, but the brown bears are thicker and larger on the little toes. But is this big sole soft? Is it hard? Ask the breeding staff.
