There is an acorn tree on the grounds of Bear Mountain.
The photo shows a baby Quercus acorn (the part pointed to with a ballpoint pen).
Bears (in the wild) also eat this. The Bear Mountain bears also eat well with their mouths.
What I am concerned about this year is that I can see the withered leaves, like the one on the bottom left of the photo.
If the acorns are not in good condition, bears in the wild will have a hard time making ends meet, so I hope they turn out well.
