Menkoi 3 Brothers

We had a wonderful encounter today. Three Ezo chipmunks came out from the side of the 3S bus road. Considering the size of the body, it is not a sibling squirrel born from spring to summer of this year. We crossed the bus path and went down to Sasayab on the valley side. We crossed the bus path near Kouta, but neither Kouta nor the three squirrel siblings seemed to particularly care, and it was natural to be there. A few days ago, I encountered a cicada molting site near the ticket gate of the promenade. Did he fall off a tree? I was lying on the road in a defenseless state, so I asked them to help me take a picture and then put it back by the tree. When I held it in my hand, I was very surprised that it trembled like the vibration of a mobile phone, but I was able to convey the feeling of living life and it was a valuable experience. Insects are a little bad ... I think that tastes are also divided, but there are many things to learn from them as a life that lives vigorously in the great outdoors. (I'm not good at spiders and insects with a lot of legs, but... Laughs) [Breeding: Ito]

Koji and Hirotake Combi

More bonding than the duo of Santa and Kouta (!?) Koji & Hirotake duo. He hangs out with Koji and his twin Kouta's son, Hirotake. Do they know the two animals that are related by blood? Every year, we often see two of them acting together. This is the birch seen from the end point and end point of the promenade. Marking them together. Koji turned around and frowned at something. After that, we moved to Bear Point in lockstep. Estrus will soon come to an end, but how long will these two animals hang out?

Santa and Kouta Combi

She is still busy with her mating season, such as chasing after her partner and having back-rubbing battles. In previous years, Kota has been repeating solo activities and patrolling around the park, but this year, for some reason, he has fallen in love with Santa. At first, Santa seemed to be bothered by Kouta stalking him while keeping a delicate distance from him, but lately he seems to have gotten used to it, and he sometimes rests next to him like this. ← Just below the end point But there is a slight gap between the two animals... (lol) Recently, they are often sleeping in the stream near the end point or directly under the end point, so please be careful and observe them during lunch. Slippery Tree

It's raining again today and it's humid in Sahoro. You can see the brown bears even if it's raining. We also lend out umbrellas for free, and even on rainy days, you can take the bus.The other day, I sneaked into the park before it opened for a photo shoot. Thanks to the brown bears scrubbing the tree's back one after another, the bark of the tree is peeling off beautifully. When I got closer, I saw that the wooden surface was smooth and shiny. It was smooth and felt good when I touched it. Which is better for the bears, smooth or lumpy?

We are doing it again this year! Gathering grass

This year has also started. Gathering grass inside Joyner's cave. Last year at this time, I was busy raking up grass and bringing it into the cave. The inside of the cave is a popular spot for bears because it is cool, but bears are mindful of their surroundings and repeatedly collect and rak grass as if to claim it as their own room. I'm a joiner with many hobbies (?), such as chasing fish and collecting grass. *Recently I've been talking about Joyner only (^^;;

honey and bear

Bear Mountain in the fog It's been a long, humid day, but the director, who is from Kansai, says, ``It's still better!'' Today, I drilled a hole in a log placed next to the glass at Bear Point and poured honey into it. ←This. Since there was only a small amount of honey in the small hole, the other bears passed by without noticing, but Joyner, who loves new things, immediately noticed the unusual behavior and after smelling it, he licked it deliciously. Bears are gourmets who love sweet and strong flavors, so of course they like honey, but in the summer they often eat insects such as bee larvae and ants. The joiner was probably satisfied and took a ``business nap'' on top of the cave, facing the promenade. Many customers took photos of the cute cat taking a nap (lol) while changing its pose slightly... [Breeder: Ito]

Refreshing with a morning bath today too! Joyner

It's hot every day. Not only the brown bears but also humans are suffering from this heat/(-_-)ヽ Are you all feeling tired in the summer? Well, Joyner, who is well known for his dynamic split legs (lol), went straight to the pond in front of Bear Point this morning, as if he had come to take a morning bath. They had fun checking the water from one end of the pond to see if there were any fish, holding large branches in their mouths, submerging them, and placing them on their bellies. After playing for about 10 minutes, he came out of the pond looking refreshed. Even so, when I see them innocently playing around with their ``belly exposed!'' and ``spreading their legs apart,'' let's do our best today as well! I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels encouraged!? Here's a cheer from a joiner who hasn't experienced any summer fatigue♪ Sarah, it's time to replace her hair.

ice and joiner

The dynamic leg split is by Joyner. When I dropped a block of ice into the pond, he immediately found it and started playing with it. Biting, sinking, floating...Joiners fully enjoy toys they don't usually see. He seemed to be getting excited and turned onto his back holding a wooden stick. I stuck my huge body into a shallow ditch and chased rainbow trout using the familiar ``rainbow trout damming strategy.'' Did you feel better after playing for a while? As if to say, ``I have no business here,'' it quickly climbed out of the pond and disappeared into the bushes. brown bear in the forest

I know it's too late now, but being able to see brown bears like this is a sight that only a bear can have... When you work, it tends to become a ``familiar sight''. As I watch the brown bears roaming through the forest and happily bathing in the streams, I am reminded of how grateful I am to be able to see this scenery every day. Today, I felt that I wanted the visitors to experience the wonderful side of brown bears as well. Lately, I think there have been an increase in the number of customers who are staying longer, taking photos of themselves walking through the forest, and leisurely admiring the brown bears. —————————————————————————- ↓Tadpoles in the artificial pond in Bear Point Left) Ezo salamander Right) Ezo red frog [Raised by Ito]

From Rocky returning to Noboribetsu

When Rocky returned to Noboribetsu Bear Farm on June 4th, he underwent a blood test, checked his milk intake and stool condition, and was placed in isolation and quarantine for two days. As a result, the bear was in good condition and no abnormalities were observed, so it was reunited with three other cubs at the cub farm on June 6th. It seemed to be wary at first, but by the afternoon it had calmed down considerably and was playing alone and approaching other individuals. At Sahoro, they were in a special cage, so I thought they were roaming around in a large area, but I noticed they were watching from behind a tree. It would be amazing if you quickly get used to the environment and become the future boss of the XXX generation, “Rocky”! Aiming to be a boss!? (Even if you don't aim to be one) I hope that you will grow up in good health. Photo provided by: Noboribetsu Bear Farm

Goodbye, Rocky.

Rocky, the little bear who lived on Bear Mountain for a limited time, returned to Noboribetsu Bear Farm today. It was only on display for about a month, but in that time it had more than doubled its weight (today it weighed 12 kg!), and I was truly amazed at how quickly it grew. During milk time, many customers saw her adorable appearance. After drinking milk, it would often climb up to your chest and suck on your chin, turning you into a spoiled brat. When they saw something for the first time, they seemed very curious and surprised when they smelled it. When he was surprised by something, he pouted his mouth and made a warning sound, just like a ``brown bear'', and it was the moment when I felt the wild nature of this small bear. Rocky was good at playing by himself and often climbed trees to play. He is now able to jump on logs, which he was unable to climb when he came to Sahoro, and seems to like playing with them while balancing on them. I'm sure he'll go back to Noboribetsu Bear Farm and play a lot with his friends who were born in the same year. I sincerely hope that he will grow up to be a majestic and energetic male bear, just as his name "Rocky" suggests. Everyone, please look forward to Rocky's future growth. I'm going to see you at Noboribetsu Bear Farm. Please come back to Bearmauten when you grow up. [Breeding: Ito]

You might be able to hear a big chorus this weekend! ?

The weather will improve from this weekend and the chilly weather will disappear! This is the weather forecast. There is a high chance of seeing a rainbow after the rain! So, when I went to the hotel's north building plaza, I found that the trees were covered with shed shells of Ezohar cicadas. We also found an individual in the process of molting! There are more than 50 shed shells on one tree, and I think you will be able to enjoy the chorus of Ezoharu cicadas as the background music for brown bear viewing this weekend.

A tradition at this time of year?

Rookie-san-chan

It's the season when the pale green of fresh greenery is beautiful. We offer two topics about bears at this time. Santa-kun (9 years old) made his debut last fall. I call her "San-chan" so as not to confuse her with Canter. Now, Mr. Chan, it's common for rookies to say, "I'm strong!" Her arms are so cute, I'm marking them. And is it normal for rookies to worry about human relationships (between bears?)? He's looking pretty good. He's a proud guy. Next is a rather unusual sight. “How many animals are there?” Quiz. (Even if you get it right, nothing will come out.) The answer is "6 animals." These are males who are marking a lot. Males are stupid... Breeding: Takahashi (male)

join the ranks

In the center of Bear Point's viewing space, there is a pond that was hand-dug by the zookeepers. Every year, frogs used to come to lay eggs, but this year, the cracks couldn't be repaired in time, and even the frogs that did show up had no water. The cracks were successfully repaired and the water was stored, so I brought in the eggs of the Ezo red frog, which had been spawned in large numbers in the park. A few days later, I discovered Ezo salamander eggs that had been laid in a puddle that was about to swell, and I took the opportunity to invite them to the Bear Point pond. ↑Salamanders are characterized by the fact that their eggs are contained within a spiral-shaped pouch. The Ezo red frog has already hatched from its eggs and many small tadpoles are attached to the pond wall. It looks like it will take a few more days for the Ezo salamander. ↑There is an egg on the rocky area that can be seen in the upper left of the water. After seeing the bear, look behind you and pay attention to the creatures in the pond! [Breeding: Ito]
