お客様から「ムシついてるよー」との声が。 背中にアブがいることを、コウジに教えているようでした。 森の中で暮らしているヒグマたちは、ムシなんて気にしてられません。 しょっちゅう背中などにとまっているのですが、 よーく見ていると・・・頭を入れて血を吸っていました(ノ゜?゜)ノ おそらくアカウシアブ。 スズメバチに似ているけど、お尻に針はありません。 蚊と同じように口から血を吸いますが、吸われた後はバンバンに腫れ上がります。 コウジ、アブにやられてるー(>_<;) けど大丈夫です。 ヒグマの皮下脂肪は夏でも約5cmほどあるので、ちっとも気にならないみたいです。 吸い終わった後も、コウジの背中から離れないアブ。 吸えないから再チャレンジしようとしているのか？ それとも頼れるコウジの背中が居心地が良くなったのか？ 分かりませんが、 みなさんは血、吸われないようにご注意ください。

相手を気にして追尾したり、背こすり合戦などまだ発情期のせわしなさが続いております。 例年、単独行動と園内の周回（パトロール？！）を繰り返していたコウタですが、今年はなぜかサンタにべったり。 サンタの方も最初は微妙な距離を保ちながらストーキングしてくるコウタを迷惑そうにしていましたが最近は慣れてきたようで、こんな風に並んで休息することもあります。 　←エンドポイントの真下 でも微妙に開いた２頭の距離…（笑） 最近はよくエンドポイント近くの沢ぞいや、エンドポイントの真下で眠っていることが多いので、お昼時には注意して観察してみてください。 日が暮れた後のガラス掃除と夜のベアポイント 　 【飼育：伊藤】

今日も雨降りでジメジメのサホロです。 雨が降っていてもヒグマたちはご覧いただけますよー。 傘の無料貸出も行っていますし、バスに乗れば雨の日だってへっちゃらです♪ 先日、撮影で開園前の園内に潜入してきました。 ヒグマたちが次々に背こすりするおかげで 木の皮がみごとに剥がれています。 近寄ってみると・・・ これまたツルツルピカピカの木肌に☆ 触るとスベスベで気持ちよかったです。 クマたちにとってはツルツルとゴツゴツどっちがいいのかな？

今年もはじまりました。ジョイナーの洞窟内への草集め。 昨年もこの時期、せっせと草をかき集めては洞窟内に持ち込んでいました。 洞窟内は涼しいのでクマたちの人気スポットなのですが、 周囲を気にしながら、まるで自分の部屋だと主張するように何度も草を集めてかき入れます。 お魚追いかけたり、草集めしたり、多趣味（？）なジョイナーです。 ＊最近ジョイナーネタばかりだなぁ(^^;;

霧のベアマウンテン 蒸した日が続いていますが関西出身の園長に言わせれば「まだマシ！」とのことです。 　 今日はベアポイントのガラス際に置いた丸太にドリルで穴を開けてハチミツを垂らしておきました。 　　←これ。 小さな穴にわずかなハチミツだったので他のクマは気付かずに素通りしてしまいましたが、新しいもの好きなジョイナーは、いつもと違う様子にすぐ気付いて、臭いを確かめた後ぺろぺろと美味しそうに舐めていました。 クマは甘い味や濃い味のものが大好きな美食家なのでハチミツはもちろん好きですが、夏場はハチの幼虫やアリなどの昆虫類をよく食べます。 ジョイナーも満足したのか洞窟の上で遊歩道の方を向いて「営業お昼寝」をしていました。 かわいらしいお昼寝すがたをたくさんのお客様に写真に収めて頂いていました（笑） 　 　 微妙にポーズを変えながら… 【飼育：伊藤】

毎日暑いですね〜。ヒグマたちはもちろん、人間もこの暑さにまいっています/(-_-)ヽ みなさん夏バテはしていませんか？ さて、ダイナミックな開脚でお馴染みのジョイナー（笑） 今朝もまるで朝風呂にでも入りに来たような感じで、ベアポイント前の池に直行。 池の端から端まで魚がいるか顔を入れて水中チェックしたり、 大きな枝をくわえたり、沈めたり、お腹に乗せたり、楽しんでいました。 10分ほど遊ぶと、スッキリした様子で池から出ていきました。 それにしても「お腹丸出し！」「大股開き」で無邪気に遊ぶ姿を見ると 今日も1日がんばろう！と元気をもらうのは私だけではないはず!? 夏バテ知らずのジョイナーから、元気のおすそ分けです♪ サラ、毛代わりの時期を迎えています。
