With a pleasant blue sky, we invited new first-year students attending an elementary school in Shintoku Town. Shintoku Town, which is rich in nature, is home to wild brown bears, so we wanted to create time to prevent encounters and accidents, and to create time for people to think about nature conservation and coexistence with wild animals, with the cooperation of the Board of Education and each school. First, board the bear-watching bus and head to the brown bear forest. On the bus, we talk about the ecology of brown bears, but everyone is knowledgeable. Feeding finally starts!!

Today, on the 82nd day of fasting, the feeding began. The bears in question are Moko, Hinata, Santa and Canta. I had been awake for a few days now, so I had to start feeding from these four animals first. Most of the other bears are starting to wake up, but some of them are still sleeping soundly. Initially, the bears start with a small amount of the sweet bait they love, and gradually increase the amount and get used to it. Spring is already there!

At last, the bears can see the movement toward spring! The past month has been in a stable winter state, and the keepers have been chased by snow removal every day, but the movement of the bear gradually becomes active, and it may continue forever? I feel that the end is finally approaching even in the winter that seemed to be. After the March keijo, the bear begins to happen strangely every year, but I thought whether it would continue on cold days this year, but it seems that it is starting to happen without exception, and it seems that the first ride of this year is probably "Moko". When I was removing snow on the roof of the beast house today, I was vigorously opening the lid of the ventilation opening. Until now, there were bears that opened the lid, but it's been a long time since I opened it so vigorously, and I realize that I'm awake. The sub paddock in the beast house also removes snow along the electric fence so that the awakened bears can be free-ranged. This is quite hard work. Ice is piled up and looks like an object, but this ice is a very important ice. The reason why it is important is that it is ice given by brown bears in winter so as not to cause dehydration. In the first year of winter, I was making a lot of big ice anyway. However, when I tried to give it to the bears, I did not enter from the shelter of the cage, and I was repeatedly doing the harsh work of dividing one by one and giving it. Scold! Bear Mt's eye of the typhoon "Moko" is firmly in winter this year, and it seems to be a lie that I did not sleep at all last year. Today, I had you go out of the room for the first time in a long time by replacing all the straws in moko's room, but the movement was slow and seemed to be completely in winter mode like other individuals. Straw is finely chewed and shredded, and it is completely pettanco by weight. The room is 1000000 and the room is 1000000000.>. <) Moko's nails create an atmosphere. After all I wonder if it is young ... If it is a bear in normal winter warmth mode, I do not stand up too much and appeal, but that area is really moko! As long as I entered the room, I began to process the sesse and the new straw to make it easier to sleep. The sound of biting the straw and cutting it echoes in the beast house. It makes you feel the strength of the bear's ang again. The temperature in the beast house is minus 9 degrees Celsius! The temperature outside has also dropped to around minus 20°C, and it is a situation where the natural environment of Hokkaido can be created. However, I feel the vitality of the brown bear sleeping in this situation and a tremendous thing. The beast house is in the snow.

The animal house, which has cooled down very much due to the cold wave of the past few days, has finally dropped its room temperature to minus 9 degrees Celsius. Of course, the outside temperature is much colder, but the heat emitted by the bears that are crowded in winter is somewhat warmer indoors, but even if it gets cold up to now, it was about minus 6 ° C, but it may be due to the cold of this year that has fallen so far this time. The cold is very severe in the Tokachi region, but it is not such a heavy snowfall area, so snow does not accumulate as much as it does, but Sahoro piles up as it is, so the snow shoveling of the beast house is like a daily routine, but finally the snow that has been piled up on the roof of the beast house and scratched has covered the beast house! From the point of looking at areas with a lot of snow, it may not be a big deal, but a sense of accomplishment that can not be said indescribably? I took a picture involuntarily.
