Today we installed blinds in the bears' room.

What is a blind? It's like a "blindfold" that bears put on so they can sleep in peace.

Install it so that the light that can be seen through the grid in the room and the movement of people will stimulate you and will not interfere with your winter stay.

This is a special blind made by the zookeeper by cutting a control panel to fit the door (^^)

One person holds the blind from the outside and the other person secures it with wire from the inside.

There is also a viewing window on the top and bottom of the door for observing the sleeping bears.

When you install blinds, the inside of your bedroom becomes dark and quiet, making it perfect for winter.

When I installed the blind and opened the door to let the bears that had been taken out of the chute into the room, all of them easily entered the room and immediately began to play around with the bears, even though there was no food inside.

I was especially surprised by Hiroki.

Before we put the straw in Hiroki, he always sat in front of the lattice door and seemed to be observing the keeper's movements, but after we installed the blinds and put the straw in, Hiroki immediately made his bed and started sleeping.

I noticed that his behavior had changed so much that I added some straw to give him a more voluminous bed, but he immediately played with the straw again and curled up in the middle of it and fell asleep.

It seems that the effect of straw was tremendous.

Well, Yawara was the first one to put straw in it, but now he's been making his bed in earnest, and he's been sleeping more and more. The bed is shaped like a beautiful bird's nest.

This year's ``I've entered winter confinement! Declaration No. 1'' can be said to be a bummer.

During today's observation, Misumi had also made a bed and was sleeping on it.

For the next few days, we will be working on installing blinds and adding rice straw while monitoring the bears.
