Koji climbed a birch tree that could be seen from the promenade endpoint.

Bears and light-weight females sometimes climb trees, but adult males seem to be difficult to see, perhaps because of their heavy weight. So I thought, "If there is something attractive on the tree, I will climb the tree?!", so I set up ice cubes on the birches that trap the bears' favorite apples and carrots.

I thought that I would not notice the ice, because it is usually an empty tree, but several bears were walking around the tree with their noses twitching. After all, bears have an amazing sense of smell! and impressed.

Then, Koji used the rock as a scaffold, hung his claws on a tree, and lifted his body, which weighed about 250 kg, with a pull-up! (Shingo, who was in the back of the screen, was trying to climb up from the slope, but Koji passed him ahead ;)

Koji finds ice cubes and eats them deliciously, trying to pull out apples with his fingernails. Kumaemon, who smelled the smell, also stood up under the tree and said, "What's there?"

After this, Koji seemed to be satisfied, and when he climbed down from the tree, Kumaemon climbed up instead and ate the rest of the ice. Even so, I was able to observe such a wonderful ability that I could not imagine from ordinary leisurely bears, such as being able to go up and down so easily. [Zookeeper: Ito]
