Notice: Regarding the exhibition of Moko, Hirotake, and Kouta (additional note on April 24th)

Announcement "Ren" and "Rocky" have visited the park!

Ezo brown bears "Ren, 14 years old" and "Rocky, 15 years old" visited the Noboribetsu Bear Farm on November 4th! ↓Two of them on their second day here. Len (left), Rocky (right): I want a snack. We traveled by truck for two and a half hours all the way from Noboribetsu, and when we arrived at Sahoro, it was night, but both of them were calm. (Rocky was tired and depressed from the move) I thought it would take a long time to move from the cage to the room since Lela's brother is quite nervous, but Len was rather curious and moved to the room, while Rocky was a little wary but moved smoothly. After the trip, he seemed calm and rested. I'm relieved that the move was completed without any accidents. These two are very curious about their new environment! Ren in particular seemed to get used to it quickly and was busy sniffing around the chute (animal passage) and reacting to Lela and Holt through the door. They have eaten all the food and are doing well. At first, Rocky seemed to be wondering, ``Where is this...?'' but after a while, he seemed to calm down and was curious about the scent of other bears coming through the door. Rocky has a good appetite and is currently being fed 9kg of food. It all depends on how the two dogs behave in the future, but it looks like they will get used to Bear Mountain quickly. ↓Rocky and Ren are eating lots of food. They won't let me take pictures because it's so blurry. First of all, let's eat well and have a safe winter. Nice to meet you, Len, Rocky. Len Rocky's debut in the park is currently undecided. We will inform you about the debut, so please wait. Individual information - Ren, male, 14 years old (father, Mitt, twins Lela) - Rocky, male, 15 years old Currently, there are 11 animals in our facility. (Including newly imported individuals)

Notice: Koji has died.

Notice: On June 1, 2025, a male brown bear, Koji (33 years old), died. Since April 4th, due to slow movements, difficulty standing, and loss of appetite, he has not been shown this season and is undergoing treatment and rest. After medication was given, I gradually became able to walk independently, and during the anesthesia examination, I had a mass removed in my abdomen and a bedsorption in my left shoulder, but by mid-May it had almost completely healed. I had a large amount of nosebleed on the morning of May 1st, and then two small amounts of nosebleeds, but since May 13th, there was no bleeding and I was under observation. Also, since mid-May, there has been a loss of appetite due to heat, so I fed as much food as possible to prevent weight loss. Although there was an uneven knuckle and appetite in my left forelimb, I was feeling calm and I was able to stand up smoothly until the day before. A magnitude 3 earthquake occurred in the evening of May 31st, and during inspection of the animal shed, he was confirmed to be resting on a prone basis, but was confirmed to have died on the morning of June 1st. The autopsy suggests that the cause of death was myocardial infarction. In addition, due to the expansion of the heart, hyperplasia of the liver and accumulation of ascites and pleural effusions were also observed. After visiting Bear Mountain with his twin Kota in April 2006, for about 19 years, he spent the rest of his life as the back leader (?) of Bear Mountain, and was a stubborn and quite quirky girl, but he has many charms, such as showing close friendships with his beloved Hirotake, and showing harsh bears that he dislikes. When I received a rest announcement in April, I would like to thank you very much for your kindness and support, including many messages of support and fruit gifts. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of you who loved Koji. There are currently nine brown bears raised in Bear Mountain. Thank you, Koji. Addendum (June 12th) Thank you so much for all the warm messages to Koji. The Koji flower offering stand is now ready, so we have set it up. It is scheduled to be installed until the end of June. Please come and see Koji.

Notice: About Koji's exhibition

Notice about Koji Koji (33 years old), a male brown bear, has been sluggish and has decreased his appetite since around April, and has been temporarily unable to stand up. Currently, Koji has moved to the treatment room and is receiving intensive medication and care in consultation with the veterinarian. In addition, when an anesthesia examination was performed on April 18, a mass was found on the side of the left abdomen and a pressure ulcer on the left shoulder. The mass was immediately removed, and after changing the medication, she slowly recovered to the point where she was able to stand up and walk, and her appetite returned. However, at the age of 33, he is not able to move perfectly when walking, and when he is not feeling well, he is increasingly spending time lying down, and in order to continue intensive treatment and recuperation, we will end the exhibition in the park in April 2025 and take a break. In the future, we will post information about Koji on SNS. In addition, Kouta (33 years old) and Hirotake (26 years old) are also elderly and have trouble walking, so we plan to release them and recuperate them in the future while watching the intentions and conditions of the bears, so we ask for your understanding. Notice Canta has died

Announcement On March 21, 2025, a male brown bear, Canta, died. I celebrated my birthday last month and turned 33 years old. After the winter, he was eating a lot of food to gain strength, and he had finished his food on the morning of the 21st. When I went to the animal house to check in the afternoon, it seemed that he had already passed away. As a result of the autopsy, the cause of death appears to be acute heart failure. For about 18 years since I came to Bear Mountain in 2006, I have fascinated many people and taught me a lot of things with a large body and a round and charming face and expression that have a strong presence anywhere in the large park. He was always serious about bathing, he was stubborn, he often made the new staff cry and put pressure on the bears he didn't like, but he was a child who listened to the keepers well. Last year, the exhibition was suspended due to the inability to stand up from the summer, and I lived in a veterinary house and took care of it. He destroyed the mat he had laid to prevent pressure ulcers in a few minutes, complained that he was not getting enough food, and spent the winter sleep like a canter until the end of his life. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who cared about and loved Canta, who has worked hard at Bear Mountain for many years. Currently, there are 10 bears raised at Bear Mountain. Congratulations Canta. P.S. (April 25, 2025) Thank you all for your kind words to Canta. Regarding flower donations, we will set up a flower donation stand in Bear Point. We hope you will come and meet Canta.
