Bear Mountain is finally opening tomorrow.

Today we are welcoming the new 1st graders of elementary schools in Shintoku Town (Shintoku Elementary School, Kutsokuminami Elementary School, and Tomimura Ushi Elementary School).

I was invited as part of a school class.

By having them learn even a little about the habits and ecology of brown bears, we can prevent encounters and accidents.

The breeding staff will guide you so that you can aim to coexist with nature.

From the bear watching bus,

I experienced brown bears through the glass from Bear Point.

At first, the girls said that it was scary to see the force behind the glass.

Have you gotten used to it? You can now observe it without running away even if it approaches you.

There's a lot of snow left this year, so it's easy to spot brown bears during Golden Week!
