Even though it's August, the temperature today is so low that it's almost chilly. But the bears are fine! Looks like it's going to be easy.

Today is Saturday, August weekend event"Gift of Ice"We did this.

I put my favorite apples, carrots, and snacks inside a large ice cube and layered them so that they can be enjoyed for a long time.

Canter was the first to arrive at Bear Point in the morning. When I found the ice, I immediately scratched it with my fingernails, but it was difficult to remove it. I suddenly turned away.

Hmm, do canters get bored easily?

Next came Joyner. I immediately try to approach the ice, but Canter makes a growling sound and threatens me.

"Hey, I wasn't interested earlier!"

Apparently they don't want to leave it to other bears. (^^;)

(Bears have a tendency to become very attached to things that they recognize as their own! Therefore, even if you find a deer carcass in the mountains, do not approach it easily. It may already belong to a bear.)

Canter then left and Joyner started eating the ice.

They deftly pick and eat apples with their front claws and roll ice cubes to find a place where they can eat.

Joyner seems to be getting the hang of it, not just scratching it with his nails, but doing it properly. It is holding the ice with its other front paw.Even so, these are sharp and splendid nails!

There is only a little time left in August, but please come and see the ``Ice Present'' on the weekend.

(It depends on the weather and how hard the bears are working, but we recommend visiting in the morning when there is still ice.)
